How Reviews Work

Understand how reviews are submitted, verified, and displayed.

Two Ways to Leave a Review

amino.reviews supports two types of reviews, each designed for a different scenario. Both carry equal weight and go through the same moderation process.

Organic Reviews

Anyone with an account can write a review for any vendor on the platform. The process is straightforward:

  1. Sign in with Google, Apple, or email
  2. Navigate to the vendor's page
  3. Click Write a Review
  4. Rate the vendor 1–5 stars, write a title and detailed body, optionally tag the products you purchased and upload photos
  5. Submit — your review enters the moderation queue

Invitation Reviews (Verified Purchase)

Vendors can send review invitations directly to customers who have made a purchase. This creates a verified chain from purchase to review:

  1. Vendor sends an invitation via their dashboard, API, or WooCommerce plugin
  2. Customer receives an email with a unique link
  3. Customer clicks the link and writes their review — no account or login required
  4. The review is automatically tagged Verified Purchase
Note: Verified Purchase reviews are clearly labeled so other users know the reviewer actually bought from this vendor.

Moderation

Every review passes through moderation before it appears publicly. This two-stage process combines AI screening with human oversight:

  • AI screening — Reviews are automatically checked for spam, profanity, fake content, and guideline violations
  • Human review — Moderators verify flagged reviews and handle edge cases

Most reviews are approved within hours. You'll receive a notification when your review goes live.

Ratings and Voting

Reviews use a 1–5 star rating scale. Other community members can vote reviews as Helpful or Unhelpful, which influences how reviews are ranked on the vendor's page. Vendors can also post a public response to any review.
